What Makes a Skill Truly Production-Ready?

“What does a production-ready skill actually look like?”

I get this question a lot.

With traditional software, we ship it, we know it has some bugs, but we know what it does. AI is probabilistic. It’s going to do interestingly random things sometimes - the same way an employee would. We have to keep correcting it.

So the real question should switch from “Is it perfect?” to “Do I know what my feedback loop is?”

That’s the test of production-ready. Not zero bugs. A clear answer to how this skill keeps getting better.

Does feedback go back to the author? Can the people using the skill flag when something’s wrong and correct it? When someone says “that’s the wrong answer” - what happens next?

The team that built and tested it might have gotten to 99%. That’s awesome. But 1% means unexpected things will still happen in the AI world.

If the feedback loop is in place, you’re production-ready - that’s the key.
