AI skills are an open standard that bundles process, best practices, and code into one place.
But how do we get the right skills to the right people?
The built-in marketplaces today are clunky. You give your team a link, push everything to everyone, and if you hit them with 100 skills - they’re swamped. Discoverability falls apart. Nobody’s going to poke through every skill wondering “what does this one do?”
The technology won’t solve this, so we have to.
We need a parallel communication channel - Slack, Teams, your wiki, whatever your org actually uses. Then we educate in bite-sized pieces: here’s our new proposal tool, here’s a quick video, here’s why you care. That’s change management. That’s leadership.
If folks aren’t adopting a skill, that means they don’t understand it, they haven’t discovered it, and there’s no “what’s in it for me.”
Don’t dump 100 skills on your team without context. Start with the why, then lead them to the skills.
