Most people building AI automations and skills focus on one thing: Does it produce the right output? That’s necessary, but it’s not sufficient.
One of the most powerful things you can do when building a co-work skill is add a quality checking step directly into the skill itself. Before anything gets marked as done, have it verify its own work. Did the research come from reliable sources? Is the text it generated accurate? Does the output actually match what was asked for?
AI is incredibly capable. It’s also confidently wrong sometimes. The skill won’t know the difference unless you build in the instruction to check.
This isn’t just a safety net - it’s one of the genuine superpowers of building with skills rather than just chatting. A chat session ends. A skill with a quality check built in runs the same verification every single time, without you having to remember to ask.
If you’re building skills right now and this step isn’t in there, add it. It’s the difference between a tool you trust and one you have to babysit.
