Every time I talk about co-work skills, someone asks the same question: does this mean we can replace people?
Here’s what I’m actually seeing: the more capable someone is, the better their results with AI. These tools amplify whoever’s using them, they don’t level the field in the way people fear.
What co-work skills do is free people from the execution of a process so they can focus on what they’re actually supposed to be doing. Building relationships. Thinking strategically. Making judgment calls. The things that can’t be bundled into a skill file.
If you’ve got great people on your team, co-work skills make them more scalable, not redundant. Their expertise doesn’t stay locked in their heads - it gets shared across the whole organization.
That’s the real opportunity here. Not replacement - multiplication.
