We didn’t hire our salespeople to fill out reports. We hired them to build relationships.
That distinction is at the heart of how I think about AI agents in business.
Agents aren’t here to replace your people. They’re here to remove the friction that keeps your people from doing their best work. The reports. The busywork. All of that can be handed off.
What’s left? The high-value, deeply human work: building relationships, generating ideas, making judgment calls, connecting with customers in ways that actually matter.
It’s not about doing more with fewer people. It’s about doing better work with the same people, because the noise has been cleared away.
Before you decide where to deploy AI agents in your organization, talk to the people actually doing the work. Ask them where the friction is, or teach them how to find it for themselves. The answers will be very valuable.
